For Ben Smith who is a serious tattoo collector of all styles and a DC inspired sleeve was on the cards. His first tattoo from Damien was the TomHardy’s portrayal of Bane in the Dark Knight series then Heath Ledgers the Joker. Ben Has appreciated Damien’s work and has always felt comfortable with him. The tattoos took about 4 hours each. Having a full arm and full leg he is no stranger to the pain however the tattoos by Damien were a pleasure in comparison. Damien, Ben and Ben’s brother Aaron have had a friendship spanning more than 20 years where they played Rugby league together for the Nambour Crushers RLFC. Damien admits the two brothers are some of the best football players he has ever played with.

A custom tattoo design by Damien that culminated at the New Zealand Tattoo and arts festival in New Plymouth. Damien and Mick had been collaborating on the design for a month before a very unique concept was formed. A process Damien calls”Image tennis”. As Mick explains “ I get tattooed because I enjoy collecting art from awesome artists. Flying internationally is a small price to pay for the experience and it’s a great story to tell when people ask about it”. In total the tattoo was 8 hrs and being a humble Australian man he quietly explains “ the pain was not that bad. It’s a Good spot to get tattooed up there”. To this day Damien and Mick still keep in contact and consider each other good friends.

Kelly says “I get compliments ALL the time on it”. One thing Damien explains is after you get a tattoo from him be prepared for the Attention that comes with the tattoo. Kelly’s
Reason was to remind one’s self of the journey with Alcohol and the effect it has on her. This tattoo has a beautiful pallet that compliments her skin tone and captures her expression she wanted to deliver. The pain was so easy Kelly can’t remember how long it actually took. I guess time flys when you are having fun. It is important that everyone feels comfortable and at home as it helps with moral and positivity.
