From the initial consultation to the final reveal, our team is committed to making the process as seamless, personalized, and unforgettable as possible. Whether you're getting your first tattoo or adding to a collection, here's a breakdown of what you can expect when you book your next tattoo with us.
The first step in the Colour Theory experience is crafting the perfect design. We understand that tattoos are deeply personal, and we want your artwork to reflect your vision. During your initial consultation, you'll meet with one of our skilled artists to discuss your idea, preferences, and inspiration.
Design Style: Do you prefer realism, black & grey, bold linework, or vibrant color? Our artists specialize in a wide range of styles to suit your aesthetic.
Placement: Where on your body would you like the tattoo? We’ll consider shape, flow, and proportion to ensure the design complements your body.
Size & Detail: The size and complexity of the tattoo will impact the time and pricing. Larger, more detailed pieces may take multiple sessions.
Meaning: If you have a story or symbolism behind the tattoo, we’ll incorporate it into the design to create something truly meaningful.
Things To Consider During Your Consultation
Pricing Factors
We believe in transparent pricing, and our goal is to ensure you’re comfortable and confident with your investment. Once we’ve discussed the design, size, and placement, our artists will provide you with an estimate of the cost.
Design Complexity: Intricate designs with fine details may cost more due to the time and skill required.
Size & Placement: Larger tattoos or designs that span across your body take longer to complete, which can affect pricing.
Time: The length of the session required to finish your tattoo will also influence the overall price. For larger projects, we typically offer hourly or session-based rates.
Artist Experience: Our artists are some of the best in the world, and while each artist has their own rate, you can trust that you're getting top-tier quality no matter which artist you choose.
How to Book
Booking your tattoo at Colour Theory is easy and straightforward. Once you've had your consultation and are ready to move forward, you'll be able to schedule your appointment. We recommend booking well in advance, as our talented artists often have a waiting list due to high demand.
Consultation: If needed, a one-on-one consultation with your chosen artist can be booked either in person or virtually.
Deposits: A deposit is required to secure your booking and is typically deducted from the final cost of your tattoo. This deposit is non-refundable, but we’re happy to reschedule if needed with at least 48 hours' notice.
Scheduling: Sessions are typically scheduled during business hours, but for larger, multi-session pieces, we can arrange extended hours to ensure your tattoo is completed in the most comfortable and efficient manner possible.
What to Expect During the Session
On the day of your appointment, you’ll be welcomed into our clean, comfortable, and professionally designed studio. Our space is designed with your comfort in mind, offering a relaxing environment where you can feel at ease while your artist works their magic.
Preparation: After reviewing the design and placement, your artist will prepare everything for the session, ensuring the tattoo area is properly sanitized and ready.
Tattooing: The tattoo itself will begin, and depending on the complexity, it could take anywhere from a couple of hours to several sessions. Our artists will keep you informed about the progress and ensure you're comfortable throughout.
Breaks & Comfort: We understand that tattooing can be a long process, so we offer breaks as needed. Don’t hesitate to ask if you need water, a snack, or to stretch your legs. Your comfort is our priority.
Aftercare Instructions
Once your tattoo is complete, we’ll provide you with comprehensive aftercare instructions to ensure proper healing and long-lasting results. Proper aftercare is essential to maintaining the quality of your tattoo, and we’re here to guide you every step of the way.
Keep your tattoo clean and moisturized.
Avoid direct sunlight, excessive moisture, or rough clothing over the tattooed area.
Do not pick at scabs or peel the tattoo as it heals.
